An additional lens in my work

Systemic Family Constellations

Exploring the relationships, histories, loyalties and patterns that shape the systems we belong to.

We don't exist in isolation.

Our lives are shaped by the relationships and systems around us. Family relationships, roles, losses, significant events, cultural expectations and patterns that have developed across generations can all influence how we experience ourselves and others.

Sometimes we notice ourselves repeating a dynamic, carrying a feeling that seems larger than the immediate situation, feeling responsible for others, or struggling to understand why a particular relationship affects us so deeply.

Systemic Family Constellations offer an experiential way of looking at these dynamics and creating a different perspective on the relationships and systems that matter to you.

The process

Experiential rather than purely intellectual.

Depending on the context, constellation work can use positioning, imagery, objects, language and embodied awareness to represent elements of a system. This can make relational dynamics more visible and can open space for curiosity about what has previously been difficult to see or put into words.

In individual therapy, this work can be adapted to the client and integrated thoughtfully into the wider therapeutic relationship.

We might explore

  • Family roles and relationship patterns
  • Belonging, separation and boundaries
  • Repeated patterns across generations
  • Unspoken loyalties and expectations
  • Loss, change and significant family events
  • Your sense of place within important systems
An important distinction

This work is exploratory and collaborative.

Constellation work is not presented as a guarantee of healing or as a replacement for other forms of psychological care. It is an additional experiential lens that can be considered when it feels appropriate for the person and the therapeutic process.

The exact way constellation work is offered — including whether it is integrated into individual psychotherapy or offered in another format — can be discussed before beginning.
